Team Australia ready to take on the world at 2026 FIM ISDE
Team Australia’s arrived in Portugal ahead of a momentous 100th edition of the 2026 FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) from October 12-17.
With dry and dusty conditions expected for the duration of the event, Australia’s 10 Trophy riders – rookies Max Midwinter, Kogan Lock and Madi Simpson alongside Kyron Bacon, Josh Strang, Gus Riordan, Korey McMahon, Will Dennett, Jess Gardiner and Danielle McDonald – are galvanised for a gruelling week of competition in and around the ISDE hub of Grandola.

The MXstore Team Australia riders have assembled in Portugal from myriad locations around the globe, with Midwinter, Lock, Simpson, McMahon and Gardiner all making the trek from Down Under after their AusEnduro seasons wrapped up in early September – which included title success for McMahon (E3) and Gardiner (EW).
Meanwhile, Bacon and Dennett were both top 10 finishers in their respective 2026 EnduroGP world title classes, while Strang, Riordan and McDonald have joined the team from America where Riordan has already wrapped up the 250cc category in the Grand National Cross Country Series after a blazing campaign – while McDonald is deep in the hotly contested battle for women’s honours with one round remaining.
Next week all that talent and star power will come together under the MXstore Team Australia banner, with Midwinter (Husqvarna), Lock (GASGAS) and Dennett (Triumph) to compete in the Junior World Trophy (JWT); Bacon (Kawasaki), McMahon (KTM), Strang (Beta) and Riordan (Honda) in the World Trophy; and Yamaha trio Gardiner, Simpson and McDonald in the Women’s World Trophy.

All three categories will again be extraordinarily competitive, particular in the World Trophy where 10 of the top 11 riders in the 2026 EnduroGP title will be representing the likes of Italy, Sweden, France, Spain and Great Britain – Josep Garcia (Spain), Andrea Verona (Italy) and Zachary Pichon (France) the standouts.
Bacon is one Aussie who won’t be intimidated after his stunning sixth place overall in the 2025 ISDE individual standings, and if he can reproduce the same type of spectacular form Australia will be in the mix to win a third World Trophy – veteran Strang a member of the 2018-winning quartet.
Seventeen countries will compete in the World Trophy, 14 in the Junior World Trophy and 10 in the Women’s World Trophy.
In the Junior World Trophy, Lock and Midwinter are determined to make a mark in their ISDE debuts alongside Dennett, who brings European experience into the mix, and in the Women’s World Trophy Australia has its sights firmly set on the United States of America, which has won five of the last six events and will again field a potent roster.
Rachael Archer, who dominated all four AusEnduro rounds she contested in 2026, will be lining up for New Zealand in the Women’s World Trophy.

“We are extremely satisfied with the team’s progress this week,” said team principal Rod Kearns. “Our team bikes and equipment arrived safely and our riders have been busy pre-walking the special tests.
“Conditions are very dry and it will be a dusty event, with home-like rock and sand conditions that should favour us for sure.
“A big thank you to our team crew and family personnel helping the parc ferme set up this week and of course the support from our sponsors, Motorcycling Australia and the enduro community back home.”
As well as the Trophy classes, six club teams from Australia will also compete in the 2026 ISDE, which will again conclude with the traditional motocross test on day six – to be held on a purpose-built beach track.
There will be livestream coverage of the 2026 ISDE on https://fim-moto.tv/, as well as highlights, exclusive content and replays.
Results from the event will be available here.
