Following recommendations from Motorcycling Australia’s Enduro Commission and approved by the Rules and Technical Committee, a new national class structure will come into effect from January 1, 2027, including a more streamlined Pro Enduro and Pro Lites format for senior riders.

To be reflected in the General Competition Rules of the upcoming 2027 Manual of Motorcycle Sport, the changes are as follows:

•    Abolition of the existing E2 and E3 classes. Rationale: E3 competitiveness has declined due to lower numbers, and the majority of states don’t have enough depth to follow the E1-E3 class structure.
•    The introduction of an All-Powers Pro Enduro class with Australian championship status. The existing Pro Enduro class does not have Australian championship status, and only aggregates the fastest riders from across the E1-E3 classes.
•    E1 to be renamed Pro Lites with the same capacity limits (120-200cc two-stroke and 150-250cc four-stroke). Rationale: improved marketability of the Australia Enduro Championship in a more streamlined Pro Enduro and Pro Lites structure; a more even spread of competitors; and closer alignment to other international domestic competitions.
•    Age modification to the existing EJ class from 16-U18 to 16-U19.
•    The following junior classes now elevated to Australian championship status: JJ (9-U12 65cc) and J1 (9-U12 85cc two-stroke and 150cc four-stroke small wheel).

The above will be binding across the Australian Enduro Championship and – where applicable – other senior competition classes from 2027.
