The 2026 Yamaha Australian Enduro Championship presented by MXstore (AusEnduro) concluded in Coonalpyn (SA) on September 5-6, which included a colossal Saturday where seven champions were crowned across the senior and junior classes.

We’ve already wrapped up the Pro categories from South Australia, including Wil Ruprecht completing a stellar Pro Enduro-winning season, so let’s sign off on the remaining Australian championship classes – J2-J4, JG, EM, EL and EV – including early successes for Ollie Paech, Lorna Lock, Harley Hutton and Rowan Pumpa.

FINAL STANDINGS ACROSS ALL CLASSES

J2: 12-U15 years, 85cc 2T/150cc 4T
Ollie Paech (GASGAS) made Saturday’s cross-country his own, wrapping up the championship in fine style with a two-minute victory over Riley Peacock (KTM).

With an unassailable lead in the standings, it was more a training drill for Paech on Sunday as he won the sprints despite Peacock enjoying the early running.

Paech has now finished 2-1 in the last two J2 seasons, with the J3 class his next frontier in the 2027 AusEnduro Championship.

Koby Munro (Kawasaki) and Hudson Wilson (KTM) swapped the third places in Coonalpyn, with Munro (201pts) slipping to third overall behind Peacock (203pts) at season’s end. Paech finished on 256pts.

J3: 13-U15 years, 200cc 2T/ 250cc 4T
A flawless season for Levi Rossi (KTM) in the J3 class, steamrolling the opposition with 11 straight victories.

With the championship already his after Kempsey, Rossi simply got back to barnstorming business in Coonalpyn, marching to victory on both days ahead of Cooper Parkes (KTM), with Finley Cox (KTM) third on Saturday and Jayden Minerds (Yamaha) taking bronze on Sunday.

Rossi finished on a perfect 275pts from 2025 J2 winner Parkes (218pts) and Chase Weston (KTM, 196pts).

Levi Rossi

J4: 15 years, 200cc 2T/ 250cc 4T
Kirk Hutton (Yamaha) has enjoyed a spring in his step all year, and Coonalpyn was no different as he went 1-1 to finish the J4 campaign on 269pts ahead of Nate Munro (Kawasaki, 221pts) and Asher Murphy (Kawasaki, 211pts).

Hutton’s main goal – championship success – was a done deal on Saturday with a runaway victory in the cross-country from Riley Walker (KTM). It was again the same 1-2 on Sunday.

Munro (3-5) and Murphy (4-3) were also prominent across the weekend.

JG: 12-U16 years, 200cc 2T/ 250cc 4T
Lorna Lock’s JG domination in 2026 has been absolute, and she was again unstoppable in the deep sand of Coonalpyn.

With nothing but clear air in front of her, Lock was the only rider to complete five laps during the cross-country, and she then defeated Olivia Johnson (Husqvarna) by eight minutes in the sprint format.

Lock banked a perfect 275ps across 11 rounds from Johnson (216pts) and Jessie Harris (Yamaha, 207pts), who recorded a 3-3 scorecard in the final two rounds to maintain the pressure on Johnson who was a DNF on Saturday.

Kaitlyn Aquilina (Yamaha) was second in the cross-country.

Lorna Lock

EV: 35 years plus, All Powers
It was like musical chairs in EV, as the same four riders dominated the top spots but in different finishing positions across the weekend.

In the cross-country it was Thomas Giffin (KTM) from Mark Cook (KTM), Luke Ablitt (Husqvarna) and 2026 champion John Day (Yamaha), and on Sunday it was Day who came up trumps from Giffin, Cook and Ablitt.

Day finished on 256pts from Cook (192pts) and Ablitt (183pts) – the only three to score points in all 11 rounds.

EM: 45 years plus, All Powers
Two riders stole the limelight in Coonalpyn: Rowan Pumpa (Husqvarna) after making it three EM titles in a row, while Warren Carroll (Yamaha) took all before him with consecutive victories in his one and only AusEnduro appearance in 2026.

Pumpa went 2-2, while Leigh Bentley (Yamaha) and Anthony Hanlan (KTM) were the third placegetters.

Pumpa’s full suite of podium finishes – for eight victories and three second places –  netted him 266pts from Hanlan (220pts) and Darren Hart (Yamaha, 135pts).
